Finding your happy place

You know that moment when you are feeling expansive and full of bliss. That moment when a smile shows up from the inside out. That for me is when I know I am in my happy place.

When the sun is shining, the crisp clean air smells like fresh blooming flowers, blue skies with fluffy clouds, birds chirping, the ocean is calm and so am I.

What is your happy place?

So many changes & challenges, oh my!

Let’s take a look at where you are at & where you’d like to be in 2023.

Getting through Covid in 2022

Remedies that helped us through mild symptoms…

Woke up with a sore throat. Took an at home rapid test which the results were positive.

Called into work. There was a mandatory stay at home order in place.

Just to be sure, I went to Kaiser along with all of my family members & took a PCR test.

Along with a sore throat there was a mild headache, cough, and a feeling of extreme tiredness.

We all quarantined in separate rooms for 11 days & wore masks in and around the house.

The daily morning soups that helped were: Signature beef & chicken broth.

Teas: Yogi ginger & lemon with a bit of honey to soothe the cough.

Doterra: ginger drops to help the cough. Breathe stick to help with congestion.

Drank Plenty of water and a ton of rest!

What’s in store for you in 2022?

Most of us spend the first few months millling over our goals. Whether it’s: Financial, fitness, relationships, spirituality, health & wellness, you name it…

What are some things that you have been wanting to do, but have been putting them off because of X,Yor Z?

How can you put some of those things into action?

Let me get straight to the point. What’s holding you back?

What’s in store for 2022? Are you ready for a change that rings in a new you? Are you willing to take the steps?

When working with a coach, it gives you an opportunity to be guided & held accountable. We turn goals into action. With guidances & support your little steps become milestones.

It’s that simple. Are you ready?

If you have said yes to any of the above & are wanting to make some changes in your life let’s have a conversation.

The silver lining

2021 coming through the other side of the 2020 Pandemic

After a year of our world being turned upside down, I stop to take a breathe and reflect on the Silver lining.

There is so much to reflect upon. Where do I began?

Our world came to a halt in March of 2020. Like many others, due to the Pandemic companies closed and work came to a complete standstill.

Lives were lost, jobs were gone, school was closed, entertainment was shut down, thankfully we were still able to access food and water.

We were among the lucky that survived the first wave of Covid-19. Wearing masks, following the CDC guidelines given by the State, and local government.

Thankful for those who still worked through the Pandemic, first responders, grocery workers, postal workers, delivery companies etc.

While we aren’t out of the woods yet, due to a variant, I have to say that the past year has shined a light on what is really important for me.

Health and Family.

We recently took a trip to see family in Hawaii who we hadn’t seen for 3 years. While we had to jump hoops to do it, I have to say that it was well worth it.

It was the one thing that we were all looking forward to, and it actually came to fruition.

While we knew that there were risks, we took all of the necessary precautions possible. Took the Covid tests, got our QR codes, got our vaccines, wore masks, kept at a distance from others the best we could, washed hands, etc.

My stress and anxiety level was moderate to high, but I wanted to be able to see my family. Once we arrived in Hawaii, the warm air, blue skies and salt water seemed to melt away any worries and we had an enjoyable week together.

What is something that you would like to do, but have reservations or stress & anxiety about doing it?

How we have navigated through change…the 2020 pandemic

During this Covid-19 there have been many changes.

It all started with my daughters schooling. I remember vividly the events that took place. Mid March 2020. First it was a cancelled concert, then another cancelled trip to Disneyland, to closing of the school & starting classes virtually through Zoom.

At first it seemed surreal. We were all in limbo as to if & when school would resume in person.

That didn’t happen. Disappointed and relieved at the same time. But what did happen was lots of changes after that. My place of work closed down too, which allowed me more time to focus on my daughter, her virtual schooling and gave me an opportunity to be creative and try new things.

For the past 6 months I delved into creating & cooking. Creating a sour dough starter was one of the things I learned. From that came Baking bread, making scones, & pizza dough.

As well painting, drawing, & sewing masks. I found a way to express myself & share with others.

We as a family have been eating meals together at least once a day. It has been a nice transition from the hurried & rushed meals to cooking together & eating together. Plus we have saved a ton of money from not eating out as much.

Summer has been different in the sense of not traveling far from home, but learning to enjoy what we have here in our own backyard. Literally and figuratively. We created a space in our yard to hang out & have utilized the space to social distance with family & friends on a few occasions. We are fortunate to have an amazing view of the SF Bay, just a few steps away from our front door.

Now that Summer is winding down and coming to an end, we are looking forward to a very different school year. None the less school is happening. A somewhat sense of familiarity for my daughter. However it will be online,” flexible” when it’s safe for all to return, even that will be different.

We have learned to be flexible, patient, resilience, compassionate, caring, and work as a team to get through this.

Keeping a positive outlook is key. Creating a clean, organized, healthy working, learning & living space is important & helpful too.

Exercise, fresh air, eating healthy, connecting with friends & family on zoom calls is also a big factor in being able to sustain during this pandemic.

How have you navigated through change? What steps did you take to transition through the pandemic? What silver linings did you find?

Sometimes you just need a little support & Coaching…

We finally made it to Cataract Falls.

I had been wanting to hike there for some time now, but for what ever reason didn’t make it until today.

I can finally ✔️it off of my list.

A perfect sunny day, we stopped to get sandwiches to bring with us.

Found the perfect parking spot and made our way to the trail.

Choices of trails:
1 hour
3 hours
6 hours

We went for the 1 hour trail.

It was so serene, green, lush and the waterfalls were bursting at the seams from the recent rainfall.

Halfway up M decided to run up the stairs. I was out of breathe and my heart was pumping a mile a minute. I tried keeping up.

“Wait”!I called out as she continued to run up the stairs and turn the corner.

A couple coming down the hill cheering her on for her efforts of running up the steep incline, while I am trying to catch my breathe and catch up to her.

We had to stop at the side for me to gather myself up.

I tear up with joy and overwhelm that we actually made it to the location. Two years ago it took me 4 hours to get out of bed. I had just gotten all of my tubes out and my goals when I got better was to get back on my bike, hike, travel and do things with my family.

A little break, a good cry, hugs and some Swedish fish. Then back on track to finish the .4 miles up.

At a slower pace we walked the last part to the end of the trail.

A beautiful waterfall was worth it all!

So glad for my support of C& M.

Patient, caring and kind. It helped me move forward to one of the best views.

Just when you think it’s the hardest part…that moment when you cry and just want to give up and turn back around.

Take a moment to stop rest, release, and reflect.

Then reset, and try and re-focus.

Like life, you’ve made it past the hardest point. When you get to the desired destination it’s time to stop and enjoy the progress and steps you took to get there. Celebrate your hardwork and efforts.

“We made it!”

Sometimes we tell ourselves stories that don’t allow us to move forward. Or, we forget to celebrate our efforts.

Today I moved forward and took many steps to get there. Some were harder and steeper than others. But, I did it with help, coaching & support from my family.

What have you been wanting to do & check off of you list?

Sometimes you just need a little support & coaching…

Dream Big- Create a vision board

“Dream Big!”

Create a vision board. This is a tool and technique that I learned in High school over 30 years ago from my psychology teacher.

I have used it ever since in both my personal life and professional life with clients. It’s powerful and profound.

There are a few secrets that I will share with you…Once you create it, you have to be willing and open to receive in the “Highest good”.

As well, you will have to create S.M.A.R.T. Goals to achieve it. (I’ll explain that below*)

Helping clients over come blocks & fears is one of my specialties. Helping clients Create and manifest their dreams is one of my passions.

Are you ready for change? What steps do you need to take to get there?

Where do you start?

1) Get a piece of poster board.

2) Find photos of things that capture your heart. Photos of words, people, things that you desire.

3) clip out or print out the photos and paste them onto your board. (Make sure to have a board large enough so that you can see it everyday)

4) Start with one of your goals. It has to be S.M.A.R.T. *Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and timely.

Something tangible that you can create and see actually happen. Where are you now and where do you want to be in 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, 5 years etc.

How will you get there? 3 easy steps…

1) You will need to create a plan

2) You will need to implement the plan

3) Take small steps. Follow through and complete the plan. Stay focused.

(Success.)

4) Completed one of your goals? Awesome!

5) Acknowledge yourself and those who helped you. Then repeat.

Example:

1) I want to get “x”.

2) It costs “x”.

3) Each paycheck after paying all of my expenses, I will put aside “x” for “x” months.

Would love to hear if you try it & how it works for you.

Restorative balance & digestion

Coaching Classes & WorkshopsDigestZen_15mL_Detail_US_WEB_v1We live in a time where everything is so fast paced. Our food is fast, the information that we receive is fast, and we seem to somehow continue to live in a manner where we have “too much on our plates”.

When working with clients I notice not only are they having difficulties with their digestive systems from food, but also processing and digesting in their daily lives.

Often times people with digestive issues also have a hard time falling asleep, or wake up in the middle of the night.

Our bodies need restorative balance.

How do you find that restorative balance?

Some restorative balancing techniques that have helped:

-yoga

-meditation
